ABOUT ME DR.SÜLEYMAN ÇAM PHOTOGRAPHY
Who am I ?
I was born on a spring morning in Kaşüstü, a beautiful coastal town of Trabzon.
I lived here until I was 17. After I finished Trabzon high school, I received a special student grant from the Ministry of National Education, went to Paris and studied French Philology for 2 years in Sorbonne University.
Then I started the faculty of Medicine in the same city and became a doctor in 1992.
In 1983, I took a 7-month English training in England (Overseas School of English, Exeter, England).
I worked in German Hospital as Emergency Physician between 1993-1996,
In Bahçeşehir German Hospital Polyclinic as Chief Physician between 1996-1999,
In Hurriyet Newspaper as company doctor between 1999 and 2014
And currently work in Garanti Bank (BBVA group) as a company doctor.
Currently I also write articles on health and op-ed articles in a local newspaper in order to make a contribution to the village I was born.
I started taking photos with my Lubitel 2 camera, which was my father’s present because of my success at the end of the 7th class.
I am interested in mountain climbing, trekking, and tennis.
I am an active member and the Health unit supervisor of Garanti Bank Search and Rescue Team (GTAK), which is a social responsibility project.
I was accepted to IFSAK (Istanbul Photography and Cinema Amateurs Association) membership on May 4, 2007.
On January 2013 I was selected to İFSAK board as a member and to TFSF as a commissioner.
I received EFIAP/b (International Photography Art Federation) excellence degree in 2015.
I won the first prize nationally in different categories especially with my black & white photographs and also many mentions, bronze, silver, and gold medals (more than 50) internationally in UK, US etc.
I photography perspective has changed in time. In the beginning I was taking photographs, now photography trails me.
